WELCOME TO THE MILE HIGH MAGICIANS SOCIETY
The Mile High Magicians Society is a Denver-based association of magical enthusiasts dedicated to enjoying, appreciating and advancing the art of magic. Our performing members share their magic in many ways: From entertaining family, friends and neighbors, to street performances, to children’s birthday parties, at restaurants and banquets, at corporate events and on the speaking platform.
We meet monthly and regularly arrange for first-rate performers from around the world to perform and lecture for our members. We are a local chapter of both international magic organizations, the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) #131 and the Society of American Magicians (SAM) Earl Reum Assembly #37.

Impromptu Magic, Devices, Outs and War Stories – February Meeting Minutes
Secretary – AJ Perea | Email AJ
Glenn Prolux was our master of ceremonies and lead us through the night of horror stories and everyday carries. Stuart Hayner opened the night with a cut and restored rope trick which into a lesson on misdirection and how to use a bowtie as a piece of magic. Chris Manos presented a “Red silk disappearing trick” when as he was trying to disappear the red silk it instead changed colors and lead to a large mouth streamer appearing from his mouth. After the act Chris gave us tips on how to operate a Johnson die tube and how to find a good coin drop bucket for Meiser’s dream and etc. Bruce and Kitty Spangler brought us a collection of around 100 different magic wands. They gave us lessons about a few of the most special wands in the collection including one that held live ammo and one that could change colors in an instant. Bruce then shared a horror story from one of his past shows in which he accidentally caused his rabbit to growl and scream at him before going on stage. James Lopez started off strong with an appearing bottle trick then took us through the 7 tricks and 2 utilities on him at all times. Steve Spangler provided us with a full history on fire books and fire wallets and demonstrated many of their uses and how they operate. John Luong shared with us his full collection of reels from old to new. John Walker showed us a card trick using frequencies and disruptions where he found the cards by listening to the deck. Secretly just using a corner short card made with a nail cutter on his key ring. Jeff Wake closed our night with a hilarious routine when he used an ordinary handkerchief as a prop to teach a full story about a grandpa, grandma, and fishing.

Karl Hein is known worldwide as a performer, teacher, and magic creator. He has successfully lectured in hundreds of cities, over 40 countries, and at famous magic venues like The Magic Castle (Lecturer of the Year Nominee) and The Magic Circle. He will teach routines with cards, cubes, and everyday objects that he has never taught in live lectures. Be prepared to have fun, learn, and be inspired. See what other magicians have said about the lecture,
“Karl is an entertaining, accomplished, and experienced worker. Just one of his routines has more magic than some acts. If I could make it, I’d be there.” – Bob Sheets
“Karl stands out as being one of the few magicians that I just know will be a huge success. It is rare for a magician to not only understand technique, but also entertainment and business. I feel
comfortable booking Karl anytime and anywhere. I highly recommend his lecture.” – Bill Malone
“Karl Hein’s lecture provided me with more usable magic and information than any other lecture I can remember. Several of his routines have made their way into my professional walk-around and stand-up performances. I went out of my way to see his first lecture and I can’t wait to see the next.” – Cody Fisher
“Karl is one of my favorite magicians and CUBE FX is one of my favorite effects in all of magic. I have never seen anything have more impact.”- Jon Armstrong
