WELCOME TO THE MILE HIGH MAGICIANS SOCIETY
The Mile High Magicians Society is a Denver-based association of magical enthusiasts dedicated to enjoying, appreciating and advancing the art of magic. Our performing members share their magic in many ways: From entertaining family, friends and neighbors, to street performances, to children’s birthday parties, at restaurants and banquets, at corporate events and on the speaking platform.
We meet monthly and regularly arrange for first-rate performers from around the world to perform and lecture for our members. We are a local chapter of both international magic organizations, the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) #131 and the Society of American Magicians (SAM) Earl Reum Assembly #37.

SHOW POSTPONED TO Sat. Nov. 16th
COLORADO’s GREATEST MAGICIANS
We Coloradans love to brag about our snow skills, but let’s be honest—when the white stuff really piles up, it’s safer to stay home with hot cocoa than test those icy roads. Due to an impending blizzard and to prioritize everyone’s safety, we’re rescheduling our show by a week. The much-anticipated return of our public show will now be November 16th at the Theater of Dreams in Castle Rock. And we still have some seats so if you couldn’t make Mov. 9 join us next weekend. Safety first, magic second (but a close second)!
We realize you might not be able to make the new date, if you’d like to donate your tickets to another member let Dan know or contact Theatre of Dreams to arrange a refund.
Presidential Patter – Dan Rodriguez
Four Things
One – OFFICER ELECTIONS
The 2025 MHMS officer nominations were uncontested. Since only one candidate was running for each position, a motion was made at the October 10 business meeting to accept the following slate of Officers: Dan Rodriguez (President), Shawn Popp (Vice President), Shane Cohan (Treasurer), AJ Perea (Secretary), and Jeff & Karen Wake (Sergeants-at-Arms). A Second, discussion, followed by a swift vote of the membership concluded a unanimous approval and the “Ayes” have it. Motion carried. Please welcome our 2025 Executive Committee – Together again for one more year.
Two – MHMS ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING
You are encouraged to attend the Thursday, November 14 meeting at the HUB. The evening will start with a 15-minute business meeting that includes the Treasurers report and a discussion about meeting ideas for 2025. Your attendance is requested, and your input is needed. After the short business meeting, our Vice-President Shawn Popp will host a LEARN THE MAGIC BIZ Seminar. Shawn is a successful professional magician, and he has something special up his sleeve for you this evening.
Three – COLORADO DECLARES MAGIC WEEK
Governor Jared Polis signed a Proclamation proclaiming Halloween week as MAGIC WEEK in Colorado. How cool is that! (See Photo Below)
Four – MHMS MEMBERS PERFORM CHARITY SHOWS
In celebration of NATIONAL MAGIC WEEK honoring Harry Houdini, more than a dozen local magicians donated charity shows at Brent’s Place, Ronald McDonald House, many senior living communities, assisted living communities, and nursing homes. Thanks to Steve Davis for setting up the performers and locations and a big thanks to the performers that provided the charity shows. They include Erwin Buck, Steve Davis, Brent Ladd, Jason Fye, John Walker, Nate Reeves, Gene Gordon, John Luong, Dan Rodriguez, Charly Wonder, Chris Manos, and others. See photos below of some of our Magic Week performers. Who did I miss? If your name is not on this list and you performed a charity show during Magic Week, let me know so I can acknowledge you next month. (Photos Below)
