Club History
The Mile High Magicians Society traces its roots back to August 2, 1941, when a group of magic enthusiasts founded the Colorado Assembly of Magicians. Three years later, in 1944, the club affiliated with the Society of American Magicians as Assembly #37, establishing a formal connection to one of the world’s oldest magic organizations.
On June 1, 1958, the club took on its current name — the Mile High Magicians Society — and became the umbrella organization uniting both SAM Assembly #37 and IBM Ring #131. This unique structure remains in place today, making MHMS one of the few clubs in the country to combine both major international magic organizations under a single banner.
For over eight decades, MHMS has been a cornerstone of Colorado’s magic community, bringing together amateurs, hobbyists, professionals, and students who share a passion for the art. From monthly meetings to world-class lectures, public performances to youth outreach, we’ve maintained an unbroken tradition of magic excellence in Denver.
